We are looking for a Research Chemist / Research Scientist with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry to support research activities from discovery through to development.
About the customer:
- Location: , Aargau
- Start: Ideally November 2026
- Duration: Until October 2027
- Workload: 100%, 42 hours per week
Requirements:
- Independently execute synthetic organic chemistry routes in a safe, effective and sustainable manner.
- Design efficient synthetic routes to target molecules using scientific expertise and available digital tools.
- Collaborate with supporting platforms including automation, analytical and purification teams .
- Perform detailed risk assessments of experimental procedures and raw materials in line with HSE requirements.
- Troubleshoot synthetic chemistry challenges and contribute to scientific problem solving.
- Accurately document experimental procedures and data to ensure reproducibility, traceability and secure intellectual property.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes, safety and productivity.
Competences:
- Master's degree in Organic Chemistry / Synthetic Chemistry preferred.
- Ideally at least 2 years of professional experience as a Research Scientist in synthetic organic chemistry. profiles with a relevant Master's degree can also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry , including reaction design, retrosynthesis, troubleshooting, purification and structural elucidation.
- Comfortable using software and digital tools for synthesis design and data analysis.
- Independent, self-motivated and comfortable working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong focus on laboratory safety and high-quality scientific documentation.
- Fluent English is mandatory ; additional languages are an advantage.
