Your mission
As a Backend Developer with DevOps expertise at NeuroNation, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the robust systems and infrastructure that power our Brain Training platform. You’ll play a key role in deploying, scaling, and securing our backend services while also contributing to feature development. Working in a cross-functional, agile team, you’ll have the opportunity to bring new ideas, ensure stability and performance, and directly impact millions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, operate, and maintain systems to ensure stability and scalability
- Develop new features for backend services serving millions of users worldwide
- Contribute to microservices with clean code, fresh ideas, and best practices
- Take ownership of code quality, performance, and stability
- Work with modern technologies and frameworks
- Collaborate in a cross-functional, agile team while being able to work independently
- Have a direct impact on the success and growth of NeuroNation
Your profile
- 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer
- Solid experience with Docker & Kubernetes (2+ years) and managing deployments
- Strong backend skills in PHP 8.x and MySQL (including efficient SQL)
- Familiarity with Laravel Lumen or Slim, and MVC architecture
- Good testing habits (e.g., PHPUnit) and writing clean, maintainable code
- Experience with cloud platforms (Heroku, AWS)
- Passion for building meaningful products that improve people’s lives
- Team-player mindset, with strong collaboration skills
- Based in Berlin or willing to relocate
- Hybrid role: ability to work from our Berlin office at least 3 days per week
- Bonus: Interest in working with large-scale databases and performance optimization
