Senior Data and AI Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on, curious person capable of designing, developing, and driving the adoption of high-value solutions.Mission:- Lead and execute Data Engineering projects, from data extraction to reporting, to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines adapted to analytics, machine learning, or AI needs.- Model data according to business and technical requirements: star schemas, snowflake, Data Vault in medallion-type architectures.- Develop clear analyses, dashboards, and reports, particularly with Power BI.- Prototype and then industrialize AI use cases: predictive models, business assistants, RAG, LLM fine-tuning, UX, or specialized agents.- Implement best practices for quality, governance, security, testing, versioning, and CI/CD.- Work on several projects in parallel, with autonomy, a sense of priorities, and close collaboration with internal teams and clients.- Challenge requirements, translate business issues into concrete solutions, and support clients in their adoption.- Contribute to the development of offers, standards, and Data & AI best practices.Profile sought:- Confirmed experience, ideally 5 to 8 years, in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a similar role.- Very good command of SQL, Python, and data modeling concepts.- Experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Server/Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, dbt, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies.- Solid foundations in data architecture, quality, governance, security, and performance.- Experience in data visualization, ideally with Power BI, and the ability to design understandable and business-oriented analyses.- Knowledge of data science or machine learning: data preparation, feature engineering, model training or fine-tuning, understanding of the limits and biases of the approaches used.- Experience or strong interest in LLM architectures, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, and AI APIs.- Ability to prototype quickly, test hypotheses, measure the quality of results, and then structure a maintainable and industrializable solution.- Comfortable with a code-first approach, AI-assisted development, and development copilots, while maintaining a high standard of quality, reliability, and security.- Mastery of modern development tools: Git, Azure DevOps or equivalent, CI/CD, tests, code reviews, technical documentation, and teamwork.- Ability to communicate with business and technical stakeholders, facilitate workshops, explain complex concepts, and defend technical choices.- Mastery of fluent French and professional English; German is a plus.- Autonomy, curiosity, team spirit, service-oriented mindset, rigor, and desire to learn.What we offer:- A permanent contract with a start date as soon as possible according to your availability, ideally at 100% to allow for strong commitment to our projects.- A visible and empowering role within the Data & AI team, with the possibility of influencing our technological choices, our methods, and our projects.- Varied projects with clients in French-speaking Switzerland, in demanding business environments where quality, reliability, and value truly count.- Possibility to work on current topics: BI, LLM, UX, and innovative use cases.- An environment that values autonomy, knowledge sharing, technological monitoring, and learning through certification with technological partners, mentoring, and medium-term development prospects (e.g., lead or expert roles depending on performance and team needs).- Work-life balance respected, with flexibility, conviviality, and modern premises in Martigny or Geneva.- A culture based on high standards of quality, trust, diversity, and mutual aid.A real plus: share a portfolio, a GitHub, a notebook, an AI prototype, a dashboard, a demo, or a personal project.
