The National Sales Manager Germany will play a critical leadership role in driving the successful commercialization and growth of our client’s haematology and oncology portfolio across Germany. This individual will lead, coach and develop a newly established team of seven field-based Key Account Managers responsible for nationwide customer engagement and execution.

A central element of the role will be to integrate the new field team into the client’s existing commercial organization and establish a collaborative, transparent and high-trust operating model across both teams. The National Sales Manager will translate the project vision into clear ways of working, align account execution and manage operational or cultural challenges pragmatically.

The role will work closely with the client’s commercial and regional leadership, as well as Medical Affairs, Market Access and other cross-functional stakeholders, to ensure scientific readiness, consistent field execution, high-quality customer engagement and strong governance.

This position requires a strong people and change leader with extensive pharmaceutical sales leadership experience, deep knowledge of the German healthcare environment and a proven track record in haematology and/or oncology. Frequent national travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop a team of seven Key Account Managers across Germany
  • Drive execution of the national commercial strategy and ensure achievement of agreed business objectives
  • Act as a change leader, translating the project vision and operating model into clear expectations and practical ways of working for the field team
  • Integrate the newly established team into the client’s existing commercial organization and create an environment of trust, transparency and collaboration
  • Anticipate and manage cultural, interpersonal and operational challenges arising from collaboration between an established field force and a new partner team
  • Build close and effective working relationships with the client’s commercial and regional sales leadership, ensuring aligned priorities and rapid issue resolution
  • Establish and oversee effective peer-to-peer collaboration between Syneos and client Key Account Managers across shared accounts
  • Ensure that account maps, account plans, visit frequencies, customer messaging and follow-up actions are transparently aligned between both field teams
  • Resolve account overlaps, ownership questions and operational conflicts pragmatically and with a clear focus on customer experience and business outcomes
  • Coach the team to deliver scientifically credible, consultative, compliant and patient-focused customer interactions
  • Assess and develop scientific learning agility, account-planning capability, digital proficiency and face-to-face execution excellence
  • Partner with client Medical, Commercial and Training stakeholders to ensure effective onboarding, scientific readiness and ongoing capability development
  • Ensure effective transfer of customer knowledge and account history during onboarding and territory handover
  • Set and enforce uncompromising standards for complete, accurate and timely CRM documentation and integrity in activity reporting
  • Use KPIs, CRM insights, field analytics and account-level data to identify gaps, coordinate activities and support evidence-based coaching
