Responsibilities

• Ensuring the required HSE standards and good laboratory practices are applied/respected.
• Overseeing and defining the experimental program to deliver safe and sustainable chemical processes that are fit for the current development lifecycle stage under guidance of the project lead.
• Designing lab experiments and pilot campaigns to generate process understanding and know-how.
• Maintaining documentation to capture lab results and project requirements as defined by guidance.
• Supporting process knowledge transfers in agreement with the project lead.
• Ensuring close collaboration with project stakeholders.
• Supporting the department in specialist roles.
• Preparing inputs for cost estimates.
• Proposing, supporting, and implementing improvement projects.
• Ensuring efficient use of provided resources.

Qualifications

• PhD in organic chemistry or chemical engineering, typically with a Post Doc or equivalent experience.
• Practical experience in organic chemistry.
• Fluent English; German and French are advantageous.
• Good communication skills with the ability to see trends and simplify complex information.
• Track record in working within project timelines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in data science, statistics, modelling, automation, or process analytical techniques and collaboration with experts in these fields.
• Basic knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or R, or willingness to learn.
