Overview In this role you contribute to global resistance-monitoring programs, turning field samples into actionable insights. You will work within the Resistance Research team to advance practical lab work, data quality and reproducible science supporting sustainable disease control. You’ll handle planning, sample logistics, culturing pathogens, bioassays and molecular analyses to connect phenotypes with molecular markers and field efficacy. You will collaborate across disciplines and maintain high standards of safety and metadata quality. This position offers meaningful impact by helping develop durable crop-protection solutions in a global, scientific setting. Leistungen / Benefits pension plan flexible working bonus system on-site doctor fitness room canteen Verantwortungsbereiche Plan and support global resistance-monitoring workflows, including sample logistics and metadata management Isolate, cultivate and maintain plant-pathogenic organisms under sterile conditions Perform bioassays and molecular analyses (DNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, cloning) Analyze bioassay data and relate phenotypic results to molecular markers and field efficacy Standardize laboratory workflows across diverse sample types and pathogens Manage sample metadata and monitoring results with precision Collaborate with team to problem-solve and advance projects Work safely in line with Health, Safety and Environment standards Zentrale Anforderungen An apprenticeship or Master’s degree in biology, agronomy, or related discipline Laboratory experience in microbiology, plant pathology, molecular biology or bioassays Experience developing molecular tools and analytic approaches Establishing and optimizing automated protocols for high-throughput analyses Managing laboratory equipment and consumables Practical, detail-oriented approach and commitment to reproducible science Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-moving team Curiosity and willingness to learn new methods and technologies Experience with sequencing-data analysis or tools such as R, Geneious, Spotfire (advantage) Fluent English and/or German curiosity detail-oriented collaboration molecular biology bioassays DNA extraction
