Staff Software Engineer (GenAI/R&D Engineering)

Virtual Prototypes are simulation models for a variety of electronic platforms in the automotive, enterprise, telecommunications, or cloud market today. Our Virtual Prototyping R&D team enables our customers across those markets to manage the full lifecycle of their software development process, by leveraging an ecosystem of technologies, with Virtual Prototyping at its heart.

Ideally, you will be based within commuting distance to Aachen (Germany), Edinburgh (Scotland), or Leuven (Belgium), as we are working in a hybrid model.

In your new role you will:

• Develop the next generation of our Virtual Prototype Creation Tools
• Explore how Generative AI can boost the development process of Virtual Prototypes
• Work alongside industry-leading experts with decades of experience in Virtual Prototyping

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• MS or PhD degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
• Experience in professional software development with a focus on object-oriented design and software architecture
• Strong understanding of (Generative) AI technologies

Preferred Experience:

• Solid Java and/or C++ coding skills
• Knowledge in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Knowledge of Generative AI technology stacks, including Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, etc.
• Experience with document ingestion, tokenization strategies, and data cleaning
• Excellent networking skills
