Bid Management Director, Defence

Are you ready to lead, scale and grow a high-performing bid team and shape the future of our Defence business? We are looking for an experienced, strong international leader to drive growth, lead our global Defence bid team ensuring execution, and stakeholder collaboration to secure winning bids.

Join a high-impact, growing team in a fast-paced, international environment

Our Defence bid team is responsible for managing and executing bids globally, ensuring we deliver winning bids while adhering to internal bid processes and governance. We specialize in advanced software solutions, products, and bespoke services within the Defence sector, operating in a mix of ‘sole source’ and highly competitive international bids.

The team includes four Bid Managers based in Denmark, Germany, and the UK, working together to structure, execute, and secure high-value Defence bids on a global scale.

Lead a high-performing team, manage large-scale bids, and secure winning bids

This is a newly created position aimed at developing and scaling our bid function to handle large-scale bids across global markets. You will report directly to our GSVP for Defence Sales and be an active part of the Defence Sales management team.

As Bid Management Director, you will:

  • Lead and expand the global Defence bid team, ensuring it scales to meet future business needs.
  • Take full ownership of the bid process—setting direction, managing stakeholders, and driving winning strategies.
  • Ensure collaboration across Defence Sales, delivery, legal, and finance for seamless bid execution.
  • Drive excellence by implementing best practices, managing risks, and ensuring governance compliance.

You are expected to be able to travel 30-50 working days per year to our international offices around the world.

Experienced bid management leader with strategic and international mindset

In this role, you must bring extensive experience leading and managing large, complex bids, ideally within software and/or Defence or similar high-complexity industries. We also expect that you are a strong leader with an international mindset and experienced in leading and motivating bid teams in high-pressure environments, driving engagement, and ensuring their professional and personal growth.

Furthermore, we are looking for:

  • High-quality writing skills, enabling you to craft concise, compelling content across executive summaries, financial details, and technical summaries.
  • A natural and strong stakeholder manager and organizer who inspires both direct reports and cross-functional teams, securing the right expertise at the right time.
  • Experience with planning and project management, ensuring seamless coordination, risk management, and high-quality execution of bids.
  • Experience with software at a semi-technical level is a plus but not required.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects.
