Introduction to the Position
My client, a profitable startup with over €150 million in funding, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team in Berlin. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic accounting professional who is ready to work within a small, high-performing team that supports multiple German entities. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly and annual reporting processes, and contributing to the growth of the accounting function within the company.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger and bookkeeping for multiple German entities
- Handle month-end closing and annual reporting
- Oversee tax processes, including in-house VAT reporting (external tax aspects are managed separately)
- Participate in the annual audit process
- Work within HGB standards, with limited involvement in IFRS
- Collaborate with various finance teams (such as FP&A, group accounting, and tax teams) to ensure smooth financial operations
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Desired Qualifications
- Fluent German
- Previous experience in a large organization with multiple finance teams (FP&A, group accounting, tax)
- Familiarity with working across entities within a larger group
