Position: Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

Location: Cuxhaven, Germany

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS; support consolidation pack preparation.
• Ensure proper execution of operational accounting for accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, and general ledger in compliance with laws and guidelines.
• Execute closing entries, provisions, accruals, income entries, taxes, credit limit monitoring, and payment transaction control.
• Act as interface and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including headquarters, company directors, and local management.
• Coaching: develop team colleagues on accounting topics and share best practices.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax auditors, tax advisors, and authorities.
• Lead process optimization projects, digitization, and further development of work‑flows.

Qualifications

• University degree majoring in accounting.
• Several years of experience in a comparable position within an international corporation.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP R/3 (FI/CO/AA); knowledge of S/4 HANA desirable.
• Good command of English.
• Analytical thinking and strong numerical skills.
