Senior Data Engineer BigQuery & MicroStrategy (GCP)
- Role: Contract
- Duration: Initially 6 months
- Rate: Circa 600 euro’s per day
- Location: Remote with 2/3 days needed in Hamburg a month
A global organisation is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform experience to support the build and optimisation of a modern data platform. This role will focus on BigQuery based data pipelines and enabling analytics through MicroStrategy, working within a scalable GCP environment.
You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising data pipelines and data models, ensuring that analytics teams can efficiently consume high-quality, reliable data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable ETL / ELT data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Develop and optimise data workflows using BigQuery as the core data warehouse
- Support MicroStrategy reporting and analytics environments connected to BigQuery
- Implement reliable data ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured datasets
- Work closely with data modelling, analytics, and BI teams to enable reporting use cases
- Automate data workflows, orchestration, and deployment processes
Key Requirements
- Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Hands-on expertise with BigQuery for data warehousing and performance optimisation
- Experience integrating or supporting MicroStrategy analytics environments
- Strong experience building ETL / ELT pipelines in modern data platforms
- Experience with workflow orchestration and pipeline automation tools
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures (data warehouse / Lakehouse)
