About The Company

GROPYUS is a technology-based construction company focused on building multi-story residential buildings. Thanks to its prefabricated building system with various design options, industrial offsite construction, and fully digitalized processes, the company manufactures aspirational, sustainable, and affordable homes using timber construction methods. GROPYUS is using scalable construction and manufacturing solutions to tap into a future market, boost Europe's strength in innovation, while also playing a substantial role in improving sustainability.

About the Role

You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility, transforming digital models into physical elements at scale. Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will be trusted to solve problems efficiently and effectively building on top of a solid architecture and operational foundation and will be encouraged to seek out under-attended topics and assume responsibility for them both within your product area as well as across product areas.

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for integrating and coordinating the PLC, Robot, and 3rd-party systems which manufacture wall and slab elements. You will write software – both alone as well as in pair with your team colleagues, ensure functionality with a solid testing approach and deploy and rollout changes to the live systems. Furthermore, our teams are also responsible for operating and troubleshooting the software they have developed during working hours at the factory.

What you'll be doing

As a Software Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, building, testing and operating software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases incl. Robots, AGVs and other (semi) automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-prem), managing complex software deployments at scale.
  • Bringing a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency.
  • Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated.
  • Helping define, monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other important KPIs like e.g. OEE for critical systems.

What you bring

You are an experienced software engineer– preferably with a background in manufacturing or logistics systems, Site Reliability Engineering or software system operations.

You possess practical experience in some / all key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines incl. quality assurance, and scaling.

You have operated and supported large-scale software systems in cloud and non-cloud environments (on-premise) or PLC and robot systems in a manufacturing or logistics facility.

You have worked in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing – understanding the commercial impact of system downtime.

You are familiar with most of the following technologies:

  • Kotlin / SpringBoot
  • Kubernetes
  • Linux
  • PostgreSQL
  • Python / Bash is a plus
  • OPC-UA / PLC / SPS is a plus

You bring Cloud Operations experience.

Experience with Azure is a bonus.

You are familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems.

You have experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs.

You are willing to travel to our manufacturing site in Richen whenever needed and within Germany and Austria for in-person team events.

What We Offer

An unlimited contract with 30 vacation days. Flexible, hybrid work: You can work from home or come into the office on the schedule that works best for you.
