Lead Windows Infrastructure EngineerZurich | Hybrid | 80–100% Are you an experienced Microsoft Infrastructure / Windows Engineer who has moved into leadership, but still wants to remain technically involved? We are supporting a major Swiss organisation operating one of the country's most complex, highly available and business-critical technology environments in the appointment of a Lead Windows Infrastructure Engineer. This is not a purely managerial position. You will combine approximately 50% technical / hands‑on responsibility with 50% team leadership, leading an established team responsible for critical Microsoft infrastructure supporting a 24/7 operational environment. The Opportunity: You will lead 7 System Engineers, taking responsibility for the continued development, stability, security and operation of the organisation's Microsoft platforms. Your environment will include: Windows Server Infrastructure Active Directory Microsoft Azure Entra ID & Identity and Access Management Okta Microsoft 365 & Teams Intune / SCCM Modern Workplace / Client Infrastructure Alongside leading and developing the team, you will remain technically close to the environment — contributing to projects, supporting complex technical issues and helping shape the future architecture and technology roadmap. What You will Be Doing: Lead, coach and develop an experienced infrastructure engineering team Remain approximately 50% hands‑on / technically involved Drive the evolution of Microsoft, Windows, IAM and Modern Workplace platforms Ensure highly available, secure and compliant infrastructure for a 24/7 environment Contribute technical expertise to major infrastructure projects Support the resolution of complex technical challenges Work closely with internal stakeholders and specialist teams Take responsibility for budgets, external specialists and technology procurementHelp evaluate and introduce new technologies What We are Looking For: You will ideally bring: Strong experience across Microsoft / Windows Infrastructure Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft client technologies and/or Azure Previous technical team leadership / people management experience The ability and desire to remain technically involved Strong communication, stakeholder management and consulting skills Degree‑level education in Computer Science / IT or comparable background Fluent / professional German and good English Why Consider It?
