Background:
We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Platform SRE to join our OpenShift team. The primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
Perfect candidate:
Experienced Kubernetes Platform SRE with very good technical knowledge (Openshift/Kubernetes platform administration and engineering, experience with Bash, Python, and/or Golang) and great communication and collaboration skills. Please note that the role involves collaboration with the business areas, therefore interpersonal skills would be important.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in an OpenShift environment using GitOps practices.
- Develop and implement strategies for container orchestration, scaling, and management.
- Support development teams in their use of container technology.
- Utilize shell scripting, Python, or Golang for automation and management tasks.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Must-Haves (requirements in bold are mandatory):
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in managing OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms.
- Fluency with code management solutions, particularly GIT and CI/CD tools.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Golang, to assist in the maintenance and development of tools that manage a Kubernetes platform.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration experience.
- Proven track record in providing third-level support and design input in an enterprise environment.
- Excellent command of English and strong communication skills.
- Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- At least five years of relevant work experience.
Nice-to-Haves (not mandatory):
- Experience with automation tools, preferably Ansible.
- Experience with systems monitoring, ideally Prometheus.
- Logging experience with Grafana Loki.
- Experience with Ceph Storage and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF).
- Broad understanding of ITIL fundamentals and their application in a business environment.
- Knowledge of networking, server infrastructure, and virtualization environments.
