Germany's grid is being rebuilt for the energy transition. This role sits where much of that work gets decided.
The role
Our client, a global leader in power grid technology, needs a Strategic Account Manager to own its relationship with one of Germany's major network operators. Not a quota-carrier juggling fifty logos. One account, run like a business: strategy, relationships, pipeline, contracts and growth.
What you'll do
- Build and run the account strategy, with long-term growth and customer satisfaction as the measures that matter
- Earn trust across the operator, from engineering teams to the executive board
- Spot, qualify and close new opportunities shaped around the operator's real challenges
- Negotiate contracts and make sure SLA commitments are met
- Bring sales, technical and product development teams together to deliver tailored solutions
- Report on account health, pipeline and revenue forecasts, with no surprises
- Read the market and the competition, and keep the company positioned ahead of both
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
What you bring
- 8 to 10 years in strategic account management or business development in the energy sector
- Deep knowledge of the German grid landscape: the regulation, the technology and the pressures network operators face
- A track record with senior stakeholders and complex accounts, and closed deals to show for it
- The ability to turn complex technical topics into clear business cases
- Strategic vision backed by analytical rigour
- Fluent German and English
- A degree in engineering, science, business or a comparable field
- Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally
