About The Role

As a Werkstudent in Data Engineering & Digitalization at LRE Medical GmbH, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the company's data infrastructure. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a company-wide reporting platform from the ground up. You will work closely with experienced professionals to integrate data from various enterprise systems, including ERP and document management systems, and help create a robust, scalable data architecture. Your technical focus will be on data connection, structuring, modeling, and ensuring data quality and availability. This role is ideal for students passionate about data engineering, digital transformation, and innovative technologies, providing hands-on experience in a dynamic environment that emphasizes learning, collaboration, and real-world impact.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should be currently enrolled as a student in a relevant field such as Informatics, Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a comparable program. You should have a keen interest in data architectures, data integration, Business Intelligence, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Basic knowledge of SQL, relational databases, or data modeling is essential. Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, ETL processes, APIs, or similar technologies is advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, structured working style, and the ability to document technical processes clearly are important. Additionally, self-motivation, attention to detail, teamwork skills, and proficiency in German and English are required to thrive in this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the technical development of a centralized data structure to serve as the foundation for reporting and analytics platforms.
• Identify, analyze, and connect relevant data sources, particularly from ERP, DMS, and other enterprise systems.
• Extract, transform, and prepare data for use by controlling and departmental teams.
• Contribute to the creation of understandable data models and automated, repeatable data workflows.
• Support efforts to ensure high data quality, consistency, and traceability.
• Document data sources, interfaces, transformation processes, and technical solutions comprehensively.

Participate in the selection, implementation, and ongoing development of data and analytics tools, with a current preference for Microsoft Power BI.

• Contribute to digitalization and process automation projects, including the use of Microsoft Power Platform.
• Assist in exploring and testing potential AI and Copilot applications relevant to data and process automation.
