About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to join our team at Gutenberg Rechenzentrum GmbH & Co. KG. In this role, you will serve as a vital point of contact for end-user support at our Kiel and Lübeck locations. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of end-user devices, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring seamless operation of IT equipment across our facilities. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external service providers to deliver timely solutions and maintain high standards of IT service quality. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a supportive environment that values innovation and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a completed vocational training in the IT field, such as a certification as an IT Specialist for System Integration, IT Electronics Technician, or an equivalent qualification. You should have solid experience working with Windows-based devices (preferably Windows 11) and a basic understanding of macOS systems. Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure services, MS Defender, and BitLocker is advantageous. Familiarity with software deployment and device management tools like Intune or Matrix42, along with some scripting experience in PowerShell or automation processes, will set you apart. Excellent communication skills in German (minimum B2 level) and a valid Class B driver's license are required, as travel between sites is part of the role. A customer-oriented approach, reliability, and a solution-focused mindset are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for end-user support at the Kiel and Lübeck locations, addressing questions and resolving issues related to IT end devices.




• Handle the installation, configuration, and handover of new hardware, ensuring devices are ready for productive use.




• Analyze and resolve hardware and software malfunctions proactively, providing hands-on troubleshooting and solutions.




• Participate in the deployment of software updates, patches, and manage device security through structured ticket handling via our central IT service system.




• Coordinate with external service providers and oversee their activities on-site when necessary, ensuring smooth execution of maintenance and support tasks.




• Contribute actively to the cross-location IT service team, sharing knowledge and participating in the continuous development of IT support processes and services.




• Travel regularly between the Kiel and Lübeck sites to provide on-site assistance and ensure consistent support quality.
