About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer (m/w/d) to join our core systems team at our Dortmund location, with the flexibility of working up to 80% remotely within Germany. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our in-house software solutions, contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and scalability of our financial services, ensuring they remain robust and adaptable to future demands. You will collaborate with a motivated team of approximately 15 developers, engaging in a dynamic environment that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should possess a relevant academic background, such as a degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification. You should have several years of professional experience in software development, particularly with Java and SQL databases. Fluency in German is essential for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with Delphi and Object Pascal is considered an advantage, as it will facilitate integration with existing legacy systems. A proactive mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also important qualities we seek.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a dedicated team to develop and enhance our in-house software applications, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
- Participate actively in the design, implementation, and testing of new features and services using modern Java technologies and architectures.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our development standards, guidelines, and best practices, influencing the technical direction of our projects.
- Analyze complex requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement solutions that are robust and future-proof.
- Refactor and optimize existing ERP systems to improve performance, reliability, and integration capabilities.
- Engage in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative and high-quality development environment.
