About The Company
Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG is building a technology platform that helps developers, freelancers, and agencies create and manage web projects. We go beyond traditional web hosting by developing the tools and infrastructure our customers need to bring their ideas to life, with technology operated independently in Germany. Our teams value technical depth, thoughtful collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About The Role
Join one of two new developer teams starting together on January 4, 2027. This opportunity is designed for curious, motivated coders who are ready to grow into product development. You do not need to arrive as an expert in our technology stack. Instead, you will take part in a structured, four-month onboarding program that introduces you to our tools, systems, architecture, and everyday development practices. You will learn how our software is built and how to contribute to it effectively.
After onboarding, you will join your development team, apply what you have learned, and gradually take on more responsibility. You will work with experienced colleagues across product and engineering to build and improve services used in real-world web projects.
Qualifications
You have written code before and are familiar with Git. Your experience may come from professional work, education, personal projects, or another technology community; we are interested in your ability and motivation, not a particular career path. Experience with Go or Node.js is useful, but a willingness to learn our stack is essential.
You approach problems in a structured way and keep exploring when the first solution does not work. You are curious about why systems behave as they do, enjoy understanding dependencies, and take the time to investigate unfamiliar topics. You may have built personal projects or small tools simply because you enjoy making things work better. You communicate constructively, collaborate with others, and are open to feedback and learning.
Responsibilities
As you develop your skills, you will contribute to the ongoing development of our platform by:
- Implementing maintainable technical solutions and developing applications and services in Go or Node.js based on defined issues.
- Working with frontend developers, Product Owners, and other teams to shape requirements and deliver useful solutions.
- Maintaining existing services and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
- Writing automated tests, participating in code reviews, and supporting high standards of code quality.
- Investigating and resolving issues across services, APIs, and databases, including problems whose causes are not immediately clear.
- Building your knowledge of the systems and development practices used by your team and taking on responsibility as your experience grows.
Our technology landscape includes Go, Node.js, TypeScript, REST, gRPC, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, Helm, and concepts such as domain-driven design and CQRS.
Benefits
You will work on technically challenging platform services rather than routine, off-the-shelf solutions, alongside colleagues who are enthusiastic about technology and engaged in open source, community initiatives, and tech events. We support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a welcoming team culture, with optional social activities outside work.
Our package includes an annual salary of €45,000–€60,000, a permanent contract, flexible working hours, 30 days of annual leave, occupational pension provision, training opportunities, and your choice of hardware. The workplace is also stocked with everyday refreshments. The hiring process includes an application, a short take-home challenge, and an on-site meeting with the team and other prospective starters.
Equal Opportunity
Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG welcomes applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and routes into software development. We value curiosity, thoughtful problem-solving, and a genuine interest in building technology. Hiring decisions are based on relevant skills, potential, and role requirements.
