What will you do

• Define and implement the technology roadmap in alignment with Taxdoo’s business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering department.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture focused on innovation, excellence, and accountability.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions.
• Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and system design by designing processes and structures to scale the team effectively for future growth.
• Work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Success teams to align engineering efforts with customer needs.
• Serve as the key technology expert to senior leadership.
• Drive innovation to maintain our distinctive edge in accounting and VAT compliance by staying updated on the latest technologies and regulatory trends.

What you are good at

• Proven track record in scaling and leading high-performing engineering teams, ideally in a SaaS or FinTech environment as Director, VP, or CTO.
• Demonstrated success in architecting, scaling, and integrating exceptional engineering organizations, preferably in regulated industries or compliance-focused solutions.
• Comprehensive experience overseeing the entire software development lifecycle of SaaS products.
• Deep understanding of contemporary software engineering practices, architectural norms, and team dynamics, driving cloud-first strategies.
• Proficiency in data-driven resolution or decision-making for technology roadmaps.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
• Extensive experience working cross-functionally across different business functions.
• Inclusive and clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent English language skills, German will be a significant advantage.
