Consultant, Offshore Renewables Contract

HVDC Project Lead required for a major Transmission Systems Operator based in Germany.

Responsibilities

• Project Focus: Delivery of specialist project leadership for power electronics within the HVDC system, emphasizing onshore and offshore converter systems.
• Additional Sites: Occasional travel for supplier coordination and project discussions.
• Lead the technical project management for HVDC systems within NSC2, including onshore and offshore converter stations.
• Coordinate and manage the entire specialist team, from tendering to contract award and execution.
• Act as the primary technical contact for HVDC system-related matters, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee quality and contractual compliance throughout planning and implementation phases.
• Support technical evaluations and risk assessments during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., NABEG, BNetzA, BSH) and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Completed master\’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in HVDC systems and converter technology.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage technology (AC and DC).
• Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills in German (native level) and English (business fluent).
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and manage complex technical projects.
• Valid driver\’s license and willingness to travel.
