You will become part of Prof. Benjamin Schnieder''s research group Phlox (https://phloxgroup.wordpress.com/). Phlox conducts research in theoretical philosophy, with particular emphasis on metaphysics and the philosophy of language and logic. You will also actively collaborate in the FWF project Knowledge in Crisis (KiC: https://www.knowledgeincrisis.com/.) Your future tasks:
contribute to the intellectual life of the research group Phlox and the KiC project. participate in research, teaching, and administration at the Department of Philosophy. produce excellent research in philosophy. take part in and help organize research activities, e.g. reading groups or workshops. (co-)apply for third-party funding for your research. independently teach courses within the BA and MA philosophy programs (the teaching load is 4 SWS in the first term; no mandatory teaching load after the first term). supervise students in your areas of competence. participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance. take on administrative and organizational tasks. Your profile (Required):
AOS: metaphysics AOC: philosophy of language and logic, epistemology, and/or history of theoretical philosophy Completed doctoral studies in philosophy Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals (appropriate to career stage) Ability to work in a team Teaching experience (appropriate to career stage) Excellent knowledge of English (C1) Willingness to organize academic events; prior organizational experience is an asset.
