MAIN TASKS
Her focus is on teaching courses, including the newly introduced English-language Master’s degree course in Automotive Software Engineering and basic computer science subjects.
Furthermore, you will be expected to actively participate in the development and organization of the new Automotive Software Engineering course and contribute to the self-administration of the university and the further development of the courses offered at the Faculty of Applied Computer Science.
Special commitment is also required in service research and applied research projects as well as in the area of technology and knowledge transfer.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a scientifically proven personality with expertise in the field of automotive software development. You should have gained both professional application-oriented and theoretical experience in the field of the above-mentioned teaching area and its transfer possibilities to other disciplines. It would be desirable if you already have knowledge of Autosar development and microcontroller programming. Due to the international orientation of our university, the ability and willingness to teach courses in English is a prerequisite. Therefore, very good written and spoken German and English skills are required.
General Requirements
W2 professorship:
- Completed university degree
- Special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate
- Pedagogical aptitude
- Special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector; proof of professional practice outside the university sector can be provided in special cases by the fact that a significant part of the professional activity was carried out over a period of at least five years in cooperation between the university and non-university professional practice.
W1 junior professorship (in the practice track or doctoral track):
- Completed university degree
- Pedagogical aptitude
- Further requirements for the practice track: special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate. No more than four years should have passed between the doctorate and the end of the application period. The date of the doctoral certificate is decisive.
- Further requirements for the doctoral track: special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in a professional practice of at least five years, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been exercised outside the university sector; proof of professional practice outside the university sector can be provided in special cases by the fact that a significant part of the professional activity was carried out over a period of at least five years in cooperation between the university and non-university professional practice.
Appointment to a W2 professorship is made if the specified formal requirements are met, otherwise an appointment to a W1 junior professorship with a fixed-term civil servant status for a maximum of six years may be made. In the case of an appointment to a W1 junior professorship, the missing qualification (for the practice track, professional experience in collaboration with industry; for the doctoral track, special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate) must be provided as part of the W1 junior professorship.
The standard teaching obligation per semester for professors (W2) at universities of applied sciences is 18 full-time teaching hours and for junior professors (W1) at universities of applied sciences 6 to 9 teaching hours.
The position is suitable for severely disabled people. Severely disabled applicants will be given preference if their suitability, qualifications and professional performance are otherwise essentially equal.
