Visiting Professorships for Talents from Industry

are to be filled at the engineering-technical departments of TU Darmstadt for a duration of 1-2 semesters. The aim of the visiting female professor programme at TU Darmstadt is to make female role models in engineering visible and to expand networking and career paths between industry and science.

You have a doctorate and management experience, and you are currently working in a research or development-related department at an industrial company. You are interested in teaching and researching at the university for one to two semesters, establishing new contacts and cooperations, promoting the exchange between companies and universities and sparking students’ enthusiasm for your subject area.

Within the framework of a (partial) sabbatical, visiting professorships are filled, either full-time or part-time. Employment is scheduled to commence on 01 October 2025 . The remuneration is based on TU Darmstadt’s regulations for visiting professors (flat-rate remuneration based on W2 salary).

The professional profile of the visiting professorships is not fixed, but it should be compatible and complement the subject areas of the following departments of TU Darmstadt:

  • Materials and Earth Sciences,
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering Sciences,
  • Mechanical Engineering,
  • Electrical Engineering and Information Technology,
  • Computer Science.

The requirements for employment pursuant to Section 68 HessHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz) apply: completed university degree, scientific achievements as proven by the quality of the doctorate, additional scientific achievements or special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, of which at least three years must have taken place outside the university.
