The position is a W2 fixed-term (6 year) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.

The professorship is endowed by the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung.

Scientific Environment The professorship will be assigned to the TUM School of Management and located in Munich.

The TUM School of Management is one of the leading management schools in Germany and internationally.

Our focus in research and teaching is at the interface of management and technology, where we aim to make a real impact.

Our faculty members publish regularly in leading journals relevant to the schools departments Finance & Accounting, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategy & Leadership, Economics & Policy and Operations & Technology, and maintain close ties in interdisciplinary research with other schools and industry.

Responsibilities The responsibilities include research and teaching, third party funding acquisition, as well as the promotion of early-career scientists.

We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Technology Management with a focus on transformative technologies such as e. g., artificial intelligence, digital platform enterprises, or green technologies.

Teaching responsibilities include courses in the schools bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs, particularly in the Bachelor in Management and Technology, Master in Management (MIM), Master in Management and Innovation (MMI), and TUMs Executive MBA Program.

Courses in R&D Strategy, Technology Management, and Technology Commercialization are of special interest to the School.

Qualifications We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international level.

A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites.
