Early Stage Collections (Consumer Lending & Credit Cards)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and member-focused Early Stage Collections Representative to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our members’ financial well‑being while helping to protect the Credit Union’s assets. You will engage directly with members whose consumer loans or credit cards are in the early stages of delinquency (0–30 days past due), offering compassionate guidance, financial solutions, and timely account resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively contact members with past due consumer loan and credit card accounts within the first 30 days of delinquency.
- Educate and counsel members on their financial obligations, helping them understand available options and develop manageable repayment plans.
- Provide personalized financial counseling aimed at improving members’ financial stability and long‑term success.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and recommend solutions that align with both member needs and organizational objectives.
- Accurately document all interactions and maintain detailed account records in compliance with internal guidelines.
- Ensure all collection activities strictly adhere to applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements, as well as Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Identify potential risks early and take appropriate action to mitigate loss while preserving positive member relationships.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.85 - $20.85/hr.
