Electrical Metrologist

Responsibilities:

1. Perform calibration and verification of electrical measurement instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers) according to established procedures.
2. Maintain and troubleshoot electrical measurement equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
3. Develop and implement calibration schedules to meet DAkkS accreditation requirements.
4. Prepare and maintain calibration documentation, including certificates and reports.
5. Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
6. Participate in proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons.
7. Conduct uncertainty analysis and contribute to measurement uncertainty budgets.
8. Manage the DAkkS accreditation process, including documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
9. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in metrology standards.
10. Train and mentor junior metrology staff.
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology processes.

Qualifications Required:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical metrology.
3. Proficiency in using calibration software and measurement tools.
4. Knowledge of ISO / IEC 17025 and DAkkS accreditation requirements.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
7. Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
8. DAkkS accreditation as a calibration laboratory technician (desired).

Working Environment: The Electrical Metrologist will work in a laboratory setting, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and quality professionals. The role may involve 20% – 30% travel for audits and training.
