Who we are:
Tenpal is an early-stage AI startup building an AI Bid Agent for public tenders. We automatically search, analyze, and prepare applications for public tenders — turning public procurement into a revenue channel that scales without adding headcount. No more PDFs, no copy-paste, no missed deadlines. Work that used to take a whole bid team now runs autonomously.
Problem we solve:
Nearly half of all public tenders in Germany get exactly one bidder. The government wastes billions each year because 80% of companies in Germany don't participate in this market — little transparency, overcomplicated application processes, no market dynamics. We're changing that, giving everyone access and lowering the barrier to participate to near zero.
What you'll do:
You work directly with our co-founder . You will own a problem, ideate around potential solution, build it, and see it in front of real customers within days.
- Ship features into the live product: frontend, backend, or the AI pipelines in between
- Build AI-first by default — LLMs, retrieval, and agents are the tools you reach for, not a special case
- Own a scoped piece of the product end to end, from first idea to what customers actually use
- Sit in on customer calls, roadmap decisions, and the reasoning behind them
Who we're looking for
- You already build things on your own — one or two side projects, a tool you made because you wanted it to exist, something you shipped without anyone asking
- Natural curiosity for AI-first building — you experiment with new models and tools because you want to know what they can do
- Studying computer science or something adjacent is ideal, but not a requirement. We care about what you've built, not what's on your transcript
- Self-driven — you don't wait for instructions, you dig into the problem yourself and come back with a solution
Bonus points if you have experience with
- LLM APIs, prompt engineering, retrieval, or agentic workflows
- Parsing, generating, or filling complex forms and PDFs
- Anything you've shipped publicly — a repo, a live tool, a small product with real users
