We are looking for a PRD Quality Assurance Engineer to support EUMETSAT with a set of quality policy objectives and responsibilities, addressing management processes, products and services that provide reasonable assurance that the PRD programmes will meet their assigned targets. PRD Department has the mission to design and to establish cost effective operational end‑to‑end satellite systems meeting agreed user requirements, taking into account existing assets and solutions of the EUMETSAT Ground System and relevant evolutions of technologies and technical concepts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the suitability and implementation of PRD Divisions programmes QA plans & policies, and propose changes as considered needed;
- Propose new QA related documentation (e.g. procedures, working practices…) to be used by the PRD Department divisions Programmes, as considered needed;
- Propose updates to existing QA related documentation (e.g. procedures, working practices) used by the PRD Department divisions Programmes, as considered needed;
- Control, monitoring and reporting in the scope of Ground Segment procurement;
- Control, monitoring and reporting in the scope of Space Segment procurement;
- Propose new metrics and their implementation;
- Contribute to the organization and execution of Formal Reviews and Test Reviews;
- Control, monitoring and reporting in the scope of IVV activities;
- Contribution to Risk Management and Lessons Learned.
Knowledge (Mandatory)
- University degree in a technical discipline and a background of at least 5 years either in space systems (space/ground segments) or activity sector highly normalized or with intensive use of procedures;
- Proven experience in project QA positions;
- Knowledge of system engineering life‑cycles;
- Knowledge and experience of engineering standards used in system developments, such as ECSS or New Space framework;
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 9001:2015;
- Experience in Project Reviews Organisation and Conduction;
- Fluency in English is mandatory, you must be able to work effectively in this language;
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication and mediation skills;
- Very good attitude to team working.
Supplementary skills
- Sound hands‑on experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control;
- Sound hands‑on experience in risks management and lessons learned processes;
- Sound hands‑on experience in Anomaly and Non‑Conformity management;
- Sound hands‑on experience in supporting the collection of lessons learnt within a project team;
- Sound hands‑on experience in a rational application of quality international standards (e.g. ISO and ECSS);
- Sound hands‑on experience in managing, reporting and follow‑up of procured items;
- Knowledge of project management and project planning, possibly including the ability to identify and report on critical paths;
- Ability to draft management reports and executive summaries in English;
- Sound hands‑on experience in working on collaborative programmes involving different partners;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Location
This is a full‑time position to be located at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany.
