TiL is recruiting a Sustainable Development Manager to play a leading role in the implementation of TiL Group’s Sustainable Development department and programme. Reporting to TIL’s Head of Sustainable Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving sustainability initiatives across TiL's international terminal portfolio. The role requires an experienced professional with executive presence, capable of leading and owning complex projects, engaging with senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and taking ownership of strategic sustainability workstreams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of TiL's Sustainable Development agenda, working across functions, business units and terminals to embed sustainability principles into day-to-day operations, strengthen governance frameworks and deliver measurable business and sustainability outcomes.
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver sustainability initiatives across the portfolio, with a particular focus on climate adaptation and resilience, decarbonisation, energy transition, social impact and responsible business practices.
  • Lead engagement with terminal management teams, corporate functions, senior leadership and external stakeholders, including shareholders, lenders, port authorities, regulators and industry organisations, to translate sustainability objectives into practical implementation plans and drive alignment, accountability and continuous improvement across TiL's global portfolio.
  • Manage environmental and social workstreams across TiL Group’s M&A and project development, including sustainability due diligence for acquisitions and new developments, environmental and social impact assessments, management plans, lender requirements, and the implementation of environmental and social standards across operational terminals.
  • Coordinate TiL's sustainability reporting and performance management activities, including CSRD/ESRS-aligned disclosures, carbon footprint reporting, sustainability performance metrics, data governance and related reporting processes, supporting both regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare high-quality written materials for internal and external stakeholders, including Board papers, strategic reports, tender submissions, shareholder communications, presentations and other materials on sustainability-related topics.
  • Manage consultant and adviser relationships and support the delivery of sustainability projects, ensuring workstreams are effectively coordinated, deadlines are met and outputs meet TiL's requirements and objectives.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and mentoring to other team members, interns and external resources, ensuring high-quality delivery whilst remaining actively involved in detailed analysis, project coordination and programme implementation.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Skill:

  • Strong academic qualifications and at least 7 years of experience in dynamic, fast-paced organisations, including significant experience managing sustainability-related projects or programmes with responsibility for delivery, impact measurement and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sustainability programmes or projects within a corporate, infrastructure, consulting, or investment environment.
  • Sound knowledge of key sustainability agenda topics, with a particular focus on climate change mitigation & adaptation, energy and environmental topics. Demonstrated knowledge of carbon accounting in line with recognized standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).
  • Experience or familiarity with implementing business & human rights standards, including the UN Guiding Principles and ILO framework is a plus.
  • Experience with non-financial reporting standards (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP…) and industry trends including upcoming regulatory reporting (e.g., EU CSRD/ESRS, CSDDD….)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel, Power BI. Ease with data reporting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to analyse complex issues and articulate them clearly and concisely.
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented, with the ability to rapidly understand new concepts, build expertise beyond their core discipline, and respond effectively to evolving business and sustainability priorities.
  • Excellent in project management, handling competing priorities and overseeing simultaneous projects (planning, coordinating, reviewing progress and tracking results).
