The energy trading unit optimizes assets across all markets, balances renewables, and manages proprietary trading. We trade short‑term power algorithmically across an expanding geographical scope and have a highly technical team of veteran software engineers, leading AI experts, and power trading professionals.

We are strengthening our team with a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer (m/f/d) to work on all aspects of our cutting‑edge machine learning pipeline for intraday price predictions: dataset creation, model training, evaluation, and deployment. This senior position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience within the deep learning field.

Responsibilities

• Improve the ML pipeline for intraday price predictions: dataset creation, loading, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Develop tooling and infrastructure to streamline GPU provisioning, model benchmarking, and other workflow tasks.
• Scale and enhance the production pipeline that generates real‑time price predictions.
• Experiment with new ideas to improve prediction accuracy (e.g., new input features, model architecture, country coverage, or model scaling).
• Collaborate with data engineers, traders, and ML experts to generate innovative ideas across the value chain.
• Work with software and backend engineers to ensure reliable, high‑performance production operations.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch preferred).
• Proven experience building and deploying ML models in production.
• 2+ years of industry experience in ML.
• Strong foundation in machine learning, especially deep learning and sequence models.
• Experience with distributed computing and handling large‑scale data.
• Prior experience with time‑series forecasting and energy market knowledge is a plus.
