Job Summary
The accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory and company requirements.
The role supports project and operational teams by providing financial insights, cost control, and ensuring strong financial governance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Projects accounting and Cost monitoring (budgets vs. actual costs) by carrying out the following tasks:
- Tracks projects related cost such as (but not limited to) Labour costs, Material costs, Subcontractor payments, Variations and change orders.
- Support project managers with tasks such as Cost reports, Forecasting, Margin analysis.
- Project cost reports aligned with commercial cost value reconciliation (CVR).
- Support the project team on claims & variations
- Track retention amounts.
- Monitor certified vs. invoiced amounts.
• Prepare and issue
- Progress invoices
- Interim valuations
- Final accounts
- Accounts & Bookkeeping
- Maintain general ledger using tools such as "DATEV".
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Process expense claims.
- Processing of payment transactions.
- Identify cost overruns and financial risks early.
- Payroll management.
- Act as a contact person for employees (m/f/d) regarding payroll-related questions.
- Cash Flow & Financial Planning
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Monitor incoming and outgoing payments
• Ensure sufficient liquidity for
- Supplier payments
- VAT/tax obligations
- Support management in financial planning
• Financial Reporting by preparing
- Monthly management accounts
- Profit & Loss statement
- Balance sheet
- Cash flow statement
- Assist in annual audit preparation
- Provide KPI reports to management.
- highlighting risks and issues.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
- Support implementation of accounting systems and tools
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company procedures
