What you will do

Are you ready to push the boundaries of adhesive science? At tesa, we are looking for a Research Scientist specializing in ionic liquids to advance our next-generation debonding-on-demand adhesives. Bring your expertise to a global leader in adhesive solutions and contribute to exciting new developments.

  • Design and develop electrically releasable adhesives based on ionic liquids.
  • Investigate the electrochemical mechanisms driving the debonding process.
  • Translate adhesive solutions from the lab to practical applications , ensuring smooth implementation for customers.
  • Share and expand ionic liquids expertise within tesa’s global R&D organization .
  • Participate in multidisciplinary technology and product development projects .
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners to drive innovation.
  • Protect your research through the generation of intellectual property .

What you will need

  • A Master’s or PhD in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering , or Material Science with a strong focus on ionic liquids‘ chemistry, properties, and applications .
  • Familiarity with adhesives is a bonus but not mandatory.
  • Previous professional experience in the chemical industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with an innovative and proactive mindset.
  • A team player with a customer-centric approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in English; German is a plus.
