Packaging Development Manager who combines hands‑on packaging development with clear focus and ownership for the
PPWR compliance roadmap
, and who enjoys shaping solutions in an international, cross‑functional environment.
What You Will Do
- Own and drive the PPWR roadmap, translating regulatory requirements into clear priorities, guidelines, and implementation plans for packaging development.
- Develop and optimize consumer packaging solutions, balancing functionality, sustainability, brand impact, and industrial feasibility.
- Take lifecycle responsibility for selected packaging materials – from concept and specification through production release and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across functions, working closely with Packaging Development, Sustainability, R&D, Quality, Procurement, Production, Marketing, and Logistics.
- Work with external partners such as suppliers and agencies to industrialize and continuously improve packaging solutions.
- Ensure transparent digital documentation and data quality for packaging specifications and compliance‑relevant information.
- Monitor regulatory developments in packaging and communicate relevant impacts clearly and solution‑oriented to key stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, Data, Environmental/Material Science, or a comparable discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in packaging development, packaging engineering, or a related role within consumer products.
- Solid understanding of PPWR and sustainable packaging requirements, with the ability to translate regulation into practical development guidance.
- Structured, analytical mindset with a hands‑on, solution‑oriented approach.
- Strong project management and communication skills in an international, matrix organization.
- Team‑oriented, proactive, and confident in interface roles.
- Fluent English required; German is highly desirable.
- Proficient in MS 365 Suite and SAP.
