What you will do
As a Research Scientist – Acrylics Extrusion, you will drive innovation in solvent-free adhesive development using extrusion technology. You will play a key role in advancing formulation and compounding approaches, enabling the transition from laboratory concepts to scalable production processes. Working at the intersection of R&D, process development, and application engineering, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation adhesive solutions.
Your tasks include:
- Initiate, execute, and support the development of solvent-free adhesive formulations and extrusion-based building blocks for feasibility studies, business cases, and innovation projects
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct experimental work and trials across lab, pilot, and production scale environments
- Document, analyze, and communicate technical results in a structured and timely manner to ensure knowledge transfer and project continuity
- Contribute to and initiate invention disclosures and support the protection of intellectual property
- Perform literature and patent research, including technological input for freedom-to-operate (FTO) assessments
- Build and maintain strong internal and external technology networks to foster collaboration and innovation
- Support recruitment activities and provide technical guidance to students, interns, or junior team members
What you will need
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Science (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field). Knowledge of polymer processing and/or extrusion is preferred; professional industry experience is a plus.
- Strong curiosity and creative mindset with a passion for developing innovative solutions
- Hands-on mentality with the ability to work independently and drive experimental work forward
- Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in English; basic German language skills are an advantagP
