You get to work on advancing power electronics used for Tesla products globally, thereby directly contributing to the acceleration of the world's transition to sustainable energy. ### What You’ll Do * Lead design engineering (hardware, firmware) and accompanying teams to design and industrialize world class power electronics and energy products * Own the product from start to finish – definition, architecture, design, validation, manufacturing and field performance * Define and execute product roadmaps, establish/sustain strategic relationships with industry partners, academic institutions, and cross-functional organizations within Tesla * Key technical decision maker for product architecture, technology tradeoffs/strategy (topology, power semiconductors, thermals) and project direction * Hire and retain talent, coach and grow leaders, refine organizational structures, motivate and guide teams during different phases of a project * Build a culture of extreme ownership, technical excellence, and innovation ### What You’ll Bring * Ph.D., or M.S., in Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability in that engineering area * 4 or more years of relevant experience in start to finish ownership of power electronics – from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation, high-volume manufacturing * Experience in hiring and leading a large team of cross-functional (electrical, mechanical, power electronics controls and firmware) experts to design and launch power converters. * Solid proficiency in theory and application of power semi-conductors, latest trends in high density power electronics topologies, control strategies, and program execution cycles * Proficiency in relevant compliance and regulatory standards for power electronics and energy products in electric vehicle charging, utility scale energy storage, and residential energy storage business. * Demonstrated ability to develop engineering teams, influence key cross-functional stakeholders and make critical decisions.
