What to Expect: Under the direction of Quality Engineers, Sr. QETs are responsible for the containment process, development and maintenance of quality documents as well as the verification and auditing of incoming and in-process material according to Tesla quality and engineering requirements. Furthermore, continuous improvement and root cause analysis are one of your main tasks.
As a Senior quality engineering technician, you must define, measure, analyze, improve and control the product and process quality of the body shop as well as be able to create the required tools for this.
What You’ll Do:
- React, define, assure, steer stakeholders and document the complete containment process when a problem arises in your responsibility area and support the team if needed for another area.
- Monitor part and process quality (Gemba), determine root cause of problems and implement and maintain corrective and preventive actions and countermeasures. Assure proper documentation through the Jira system.
- Audit the manufacturing facility against the approved manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and define disposition of non-conforming parts as a member of the Material Review Board.
- Support Quality Engineer in risk assessment and mitigation.
- Support Quality Engineer in the development of quality requirements and control plans.
- Write, maintain and update quality documentation as required.
- Analyze and understand dimensional reports to take and support the steering of actions arising from those.
- Measure and coordinate data obtaining.
- Continuously follow up on daily quality related KPI’s in order to react and work together with the Quality Engineer to bring those into the defined objective.
- Proactively bring to management the status quo of the quality on the line of responsibility.
- Proactively push stakeholders for improvements needed, perform tests consciously, question the requirements.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or comparable qualification as well as relevant professional experience in production, quality management or in a process-oriented area of at least 2 years.
- Experience in mechanical inspection with precise measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.) of at least 2 years in an automotive oriented company.
- Experience in setting up, configuring and validating individual part measurements, gap and offset measurements and tightness measurements.
- The ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T fundamentals and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and statistics.
- Experience on cold and hot joining techniques quality fundamentals, evaluation and releasing processes.
- Experience leading problem-solving teams on an operational level.
