Location: Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany (Site-Based)
A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major industrial construction project in Germany.
This is a site-based leadership role responsible for managing the delivery of mechanical works from installation through to commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will oversee subcontractors, coordinate with project stakeholders, and ensure all works are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical construction activities from installation through commissioning and handover.
- Oversee mechanical building services including HVAC, chilled water, heating, piping, plumbing, plant rooms, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and specialist suppliers to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Support procurement, material management, and construction sequencing.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, engineering teams, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure successful project closeout.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, quality, and site procedures.
- Produce project reports, documentation, and regular progress updates.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing mechanical construction projects within large-scale industrial or building services environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, mechanical plant, and mechanical building services installations.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Strong understanding of installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
- Fluent English and German (minimum B1/B2).
