We have partnered with a leading Contract Logistics and Supply Chain organisation to recruit for a Sr Operations Manager Role.
Our client is an established, privately owned logistics business employing approximately 3,500 people and generating around €300 million in annual revenue. The company is financially stable, profitable and supported by a highly developed headquarters with advanced digital infrastructure.
With a strong presence across Germany and a focus on operational excellence, the business is looking to strengthen its operational leadership team by recruiting experienced professionals with a proven track record in contract logistics and warehouse operations.
The position will be based in the Baden-Württemberg.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day warehouse and contract logistics operations, ensuring efficient, reliable and commercially effective service delivery.
- People Management: Lead, motivate and develop operational teams, fostering a positive working culture and maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
- Performance Management: Monitor operational KPIs, analyse performance data and implement initiatives to improve productivity, service quality and operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise processes, improve workflows and support the development of a data-driven operating model.
- Commercial Performance: Maintain a strong understanding of operational costs, performance metrics and the commercial drivers of a successful logistics operation.
- Stakeholder Management: Build effective relationships with customers, employees, senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Change and Development: Support the ongoing development of operational processes, systems and digital capabilities across the business.
- Health, Safety and Compliance: Ensure operations meet applicable German legal requirements and relevant health, safety and operational standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in contract logistics, warehouse operations or comparable operational logistics environments.
- A strong track record in operational leadership, ideally within a branch, warehouse or site management position.
- Demonstrable experience managing teams and developing people.
- A good understanding of operational KPIs, performance reporting and data-led decision-making.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- A commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance operational performance with customer service and employee engagement.
- Fluent German, with the ability to communicate effectively with German-speaking customers and colleagues.
- The legal right to work in Germany.
