Overview
In this role you lead the Accounting function within Thales Germany, ensuring accurate and compliant financial accounting and closing rituals. You act as a key business partner to Reporting, Tax, and Controlling, aligning across the organization to deliver high-quality statutory and group reporting. You drive governance, controls, and process improvements, while shaping automation and digital transformation in finance. This senior leadership position offers impact across Europe through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead General Ledger, sub-ledgers, and financial accounting operations
- Own quarterly and annual closings per HGB and IFRS with accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare statutory financial statements compliant with standards and policies
- Oversee internal and external reporting and serve as interface to Reporting
- Implement robust accounting policies and controls to safeguard integrity
- Coordinate with Tax to reflect tax implications in financials
- Drive efficiency via continuous improvement and governance in finance
- Support M&A and corporate transactions accounting
- Provide liaison with auditors and authorities on accounting matters
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Champion automation and BI initiatives in accounting
- Lead regulatory and governance risk management in finance
- Manage talent development and succession for the accounting team
- Navigate complex matrix structure and international regulatory requirements
- Enhance cross-border harmonization of processes and tools
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Extensive IFRS and local GAAP accounting, audit and taxation experience
- Minimum 5 years in a finance leadership role in an international group or Big Four
- Master’s degree in relevant field
- Professional certifications such as CPA or Steuerberater advantageous
- Advanced MS Office, SAP, and BI tools proficiency
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical abilities
- Leadership in cross-functional matrix teams and problem-solving mindset
- Strong influence, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking
