Overview
In this role, you will lead BNY's Fund Risk Controlling function in Germany, guiding a specialist team to deliver robust risk controls and reporting across client portfolios. You shape investment compliance governance and risk measurement frameworks aligned with German rules and best practices. You will partner with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant fund risk outcomes, driving process improvements and strategic initiatives in an international setting.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead and develop a team of fund risk controlling specialists in an international environment
- Oversee execution and enhancement of fund risk controls and reporting, including ex-post investment compliance checks and VaR analyses
- Direct production and improvement of regulatory and non-regulatory fund risk reporting (e.g., AIFMD, German derivatives ordinance)
- Design and refine rules for regulatory, contractual, and internal investment compliance restrictions
- Advance fund risk controlling methodologies, reporting frameworks, and analytical solutions
- Act as senior advisor to clients on fund risk controlling matters and main point of contact for auditors
- Represent the team in cross-departmental initiatives and industry forums
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, control quality, scalability, and service delivery
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, service providers, and auditors
- Support regulatory-driven or transformation-related process changes and monitor remediation actions
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Fund Risk Controlling or Investment Compliance
- 2–3 years of leadership experience in a supervisor/lead role
- Bachelor in Finance or related discipline
- Strong understanding of fund risk controls, investment compliance monitoring, leverage, market risk, VaR, liquidity risk, and regulatory reporting
- Experience with German regulatory requirements including AIFMD and German derivatives ordinance reporting
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Advanced German language skills and fluent English
- Strong MS Office skills and comfort with data, controls, and reporting processes
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and deliver accurately
