Principal Systems/Equipment Qualification Engineer (m/f/d)
THE ROLE:
To help us lead the future of commercial aircraft modification in Boeing EASA Modifications, we are seeking a Principal Systems/Equipment Qualification Engineer to join our rapidly expanding, bestâinâclass team. We will support you to develop your already substantial skills and encourage you to reach your career goals. The successful candidate will guide and lead the design and certification of complex large aircraft modifications, primarily connectivity system integration, for our global airline partners to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements and procedures defined in the company\âs Design Organization Handbook (DOH).
You will work closely with the Office of Airworthiness and Authorities to grow and develop our connectivity system capabilities in order to ensure certification, process understanding and design strategy.
This role is based in Hamburg, Germany. The position is primarily onâsite, though limited hybrid working options are available. Travel to other sites is expected with occasional international travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
â Working with the global engineering services team, across multiple time zones, to identify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming connectivity projects.
â Lead and contribute to engineering activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and address certification and design/integration issues relating to connectivity system integration within large aircraft.
â Approving engineering deliverables as an EASA Part 21 Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
â Be a subjectâmatter expert in connectivity systems, particularly in the qualification of electrical equipment.
â Have highâlevel experience interacting with Part 21G POA, Part 145 and regulatory authority that interface with Part 21J DOA for the purpose of aircraft modification.
â Guide the engineering team in the compilation of engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness, including wiring diagrams, wire routing installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings, service bulletins/accomplishment instructions, and aircraft and component manual ICA supplements (wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals and EWIS assessments).
â Guide the engineers within the connectivity team in the compilation of certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements, including equipment qualification, test plans and reports, compliance statements, system requirements, compliance checklists and certification programmes.
â Provide strategic guidance to the connectivity team on component qualification, system architecture and system integration.
â Supplier and customer liaison: build and develop strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to meet project goals.
â Act as Boeing\âs key representative during customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI in support of active and upcoming projects. Provide additional onâsite support to assist customers during the embodiment phase of the project.
This role will require occasional national and/or international travel to visit teammates, customers and subcontractors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
â Minimum Bachelor\âs Degree within Electrical/Avionics or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
â Minimum ten years relevant experience within the aviation industry working in a relevant field.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
â Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
â Current or recent appointment as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) with terms of approval relevant to the Electrical Systems and Equipment Qualification.
â Able to demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CSâ25, JARâ25 and FARâ25 relevant to the electrical/avionics discipline.
â Knowledge and experience of connectivity systems and largeâscope connectivity modification programs.
â Experience in technical leadership of large and complex aircraft modification projects (or similar scope projects within the aviation industry).
â A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
â Ability to prioritise workloads and show flexibility to changing situations/demands.
â Ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers to embody the core values of honesty, integrity and transparency.
â Proven ability to mentor and coach engineering team members.
