Job Overview Position starts as a Site Project Manager during construction, supporting the assigned Project Manager. After completion and dedication of the Temple, role transitions to Temple Facilities Manager for a single site.
Ensures the Temple and site reflect the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature as established by the First Presidency.
Acts as the most senior functional expert in the Temple.
Responsibilities As Site Project Manager
Act as construction liaison between the Project Manager, contractors, and the assigned Area Temple Facilities Manager.
Collect, prepare, and file ongoing reports and documentation.
Review and validate invoices for the assigned Project Manager.
Supervise the site during the construction phase.
Develop relationships with local contractors, vendors, and jurisdictions.
As Temple Facilities Manager
Maintain all buildings on site, including the Temple, patron housing, residences, and ancillary buildings at established standards.
Manage expectations of approximately 1‑2 key stakeholders.
Ensure effective job knowledge, skill levels, and performance of the Facilities Services team through on‑site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring.
Implement maintenance protocols and procedures, and test improved maintenance methods, systems, and equipment.
Create and execute the annual plan, overseeing and/or managing project and operational costs, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, audio‑visual, and computer systems.
Manage department labor costs (contract and employee) and third‑party relationships.
Participate in all final close‑out procedures for projects, ensuring completion according to design, standards, and timeline.
Communicate with ecclesiastical leaders, department managers, supervisors, specialists, local governments, architects, and general contractors as needed.
Provide regular status reports on project progress, quality, issues, and procurement of materials and equipment.
Manage the Special Project Department’s workforce on site (may include mixed workforce).
Qualifications
Degree in facilities management, building industry, project management, or a related field.
Prior work experience and track record in the facilities management industry.
Or: alternative combination of education and work experience based on local environment.
Basic understanding of facilities systems and processes such as boiler/chiller servicing & operations, electrical motor controls, audiovisual, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and understand architectural and technical drawings.
Effective verbal and written communication in English and German and computer literacy.
Physical requirements: ability to sit for long periods, use computer monitors/equipment, and lift weights up to 25 kg.
