We’re working with a growing energy storage and grid infrastructure company that is building out its presence across Germany.
They are looking for a Head of Grid Connection to take ownership of their grid strategy and become a key technical decision-maker within the business.
This is a role for someone who wants real responsibility and influence. You’ll work closely with the engineering and project teams, shape how the company approaches grid connections, and help build the wider grid function as the business continues to grow.
The Role
- Own and develop the company’s grid connection strategy across Germany
- Lead grid connection activities from early-stage development through to connection
- Work closely with the engineering team on HV systems, grid studies and technical solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with TSOs, DSOs and other grid stakeholders
- Assess connection opportunities and make recommendations on technical and commercial viability
- Provide senior technical input into new projects and investment decisions
- Help develop processes, standards and best practices around grid connection
- Act as the internal grid expert, supporting development, engineering and project teams
- Help build and grow the grid connection function as the company scales
- Make key decisions around connection strategy, technical approach and priorities
What They’re Looking For
- Degree / strong professional background in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of HV systems and grid infrastructure
- Proven experience managing grid connections for energy infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of the German grid landscape and connection process
- Comfortable communicating directly with TSOs and DSOs at a technical level
- Experience working across engineering and project development teams
- Able to take ownership and make decisions without needing constant direction
- C1+ German is essential, with strong English communication skills
- Ideally experience within BESS, renewables, grid infrastructure or a similar energy environment
