I am working with an integrated agency based in central Berlin who are about implementing next-gen production solutions that enable engaging, hyper-realistic digital product experiences. Their goal is to make ‘every product playable’, by combining the science of technology with the artistry of computer-generated content. Their CG artists, interactive designers, and developers focus on creating virtual versions of their clients‘ products, so lifelike it feels like you could reach out and touch them. As a VFX Supervisor (German speaking), you will be responsible for leading and executing high-quality visual effects across various projects. Your role involves collaborating closely with Creatives, Producers, Artists and Clients to define and implement our Unreal world vision. You will help translate the Creative vision into CGI production, triaging briefs, educating clients and internal teams and managing expectations. You will work from pre-production through post-production, ensuring that all VFX elements are designed, executed, and integrated seamlessly into the final product. You will also provide technical expertise, overseeing the pipeline and troubleshooting challenges to maintain the highest quality standards. This role isn’t just about maintaining the status quo, it’s about becoming a trusted VFX advisor who anticipates client or creative needs and provides a technical and considered point of view.

You will act as a mentor to VFX artists, driving innovation and excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration. Additionally, you will represent the agency externally, staying ahead of industry trends and positioning the agency as a leader in next-gen production and immersive digital storytelling.

The agency’s key deliverables are Realtime/next-gen production solutions working in platforms like Unreal Engine and Unity. You will work across different creative, production and technical teams as well as global offices. It’s important that you have the experience and skills in this area to support the client in times of change into a new way of working (moving from traditional to virtual production) as well as supporting operational excellence across these cross-functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee and manage the full VFX pipeline from pre-production through to post-production, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality output.
2. Manage large projects and coordinate the CG output and quality control, from concept to completion.
3. Provide key POV and expertise in both traditional and real-time render use cases, particularly for the automotive world.
4. Work closely with directors, producers and internal creative teams to define and implement the VFX vision for each project.
5. Lead the CGI team across multiple disciplines, including modelling, lighting, animation and VFX.
6. Work in collaboration with Process Engineers and Technical Director to ensure the most efficient processes, pipeline and automation.
7. Responsible for the overall quality, direction and vision of the CGI studio.
8. Oversee the digital capture of live-action shoots and the subsequent integration into the VFX pipeline, ensuring that footage is optimally captured for post-production workflows.
9. Oversee post-production processes, maintaining creative consistency and ensuring that all VFX elements meet the highest quality standards.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, continuously innovating to improve production efficiency.
11. Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technological advancement within the team. Must be up to date with the latest trends, software and approaches, especially within automotive.
12. Represent the agency externally, showcasing our capabilities and expertise in next-gen VFX production.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

1. Must be fluent in German.
2. A seasoned VFX professional with extensive experience in commercials, film, or television production. Ideally with good experience in the Automotive sector.
3. A skilled leader capable of managing and motivating teams of VFX artists to achieve exceptional results.
4. Highly proficient in CG pipelines, with a strong understanding of modelling, lighting, animation, and FX.
5. A problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot technical and creative challenges in complex VFX productions.
6. Experienced in on-set supervision, providing critical expertise to ensure VFX integration aligns with the final creative vision.
7. A strong communicator who can effectively liaise between clients, directors, producers, and internal teams.
8. Passionate about innovation, always seeking new ways to push the boundaries of digital production.
