What you do
- Taking on full responsibility for the trading activities in a board level management role.
- Leading the energy trading department and shaping the strategic alignment at management level with the overall company targets.
- Supervision of the development and implementation of highly profitable trading strategies for our flexible and renewable asset portfolio.
- Daily management of the Trading Desk, Analytics and Middle-office teams. The oversight of trading operations and the optimization of the various energy portfolios.
- Internal and external representation of our trading activities.
- Monitoring and implementation of proper risk management and hedging strategies to minimize market, credit, and operational risks.
- Leadership and development of the trading team: promoting a performance-driven culture and ensuring continuous staff development.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. REMIT, MiFID II, EMIR) and internal compliance policies.
- Maintaining and expanding relationships with business partners, brokers, investors, and institutional clients.
- Supporting and driving the digitalization and automation of trading processes through innovative technologies.
Who you are
- A degree in energy economics, business administration, finance, or a related field. Candidates with different trading backgrounds or candidates with energy trading experience but no economics degree are also welcome.
- Several years of experience in power/energy trading, preferably in the field of flexible or renewable asset optimization.
- Profound knowledge about Flexibility Markets and on how to maximize profits from flexible assets.
- Deep knowledge of energy trading markets, market mechanisms, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven success in developing and implementing trading strategies and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with algo and option trading technologies and algorithms, combined with a strong interest in digital innovations, is a plus.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Fluent in English – written and spoken – the ability to speak and read German is a big plus.
