There comes a point when a semiconductor company can no longer treat Health, Safety and Environment as something managed by an external consultant and a collection of Excel sheets.
We’re working with a semiconductor scale-up that is moving from advanced R&D towards industrial production, and has now reached exactly that point.
Its R&D and test operations are becoming more complex, bringing a new level of process risk and safety responsibility.
We are now looking for an in-house HSE Manager to take the lead at a pivotal stage in the company’s growth.
The person joining will have real ownership.
You will build the HSE systems, work side by side with the engineering team and set the standards for gas handling, risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
You will also play an important role in developing the team.
Many of the engineers are still early in their careers, so building strong safety awareness across the operation will be just as important as getting the documentation right.
The HSE Manager will work directly with the company’s leadership and have a genuine voice in operational decisions.
And the scope could become much bigger.
A larger industrial operation is already being planned, giving the right person the chance to shape HSE from the early design stages and potentially grow with the company as it moves towards full-scale production.
It is a great moment to join: the foundations are still being built, but the decisions made now will influence the operation for years to come.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in hazardous gases or high-risk process environments within semiconductors, chemicals, thin-film, epitaxy or a related field.
The position is based in Germany, and we are looking for someone who speaks German.
