MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Completing a relevant apprenticeship program is required (Red Seal Certification).
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence.
EXPERIENCE
• Five to ten years of proven experience as an artisan and five or more years of proven experience leading a team.
DUTIES
- Manufacturing of components from raw materials.
- Setting up and running CNC machines in a production environment.
- Reading Manufacturing Drawings and obtaining drawings from the Supervisor or Manager.
- Interpreting P&ID symbols from the drawings.
- Executing all jobs according to the drawings provided on time and of excellent quality.
- Assisting with Planning, Scheduling & Monitoring of Work.
- Ensuring that all jobs are planned accurately and to specifications.
- Ensuring that all jobs are scheduled timeously.
- Ensuring that all mechanical equipment is in working order to perform the functions required.
- Determining appropriate equipment or methods based on requirements.
- Providing individual opinions on how to increase the quality of products being manufactured.
- Inspecting manufactured components to ensure they meet the highest standard of quality.
- Conducting testing on malfunctioning systems and determining the root cause of malfunctions.
- Quality control of workmanship on completion of the job.
- Testing and inspecting the mechanical systems after work completion.
- Having a good understanding of the use of precision measuring equipment including Dial Test Indicator, Micrometer, Vernier, Inside and Outside Calipers, and Feeler Gauges.
- Assisting with Administration Responsibilities.
- Performing good housekeeping.
- Adhering to Health and Safety protocols.
