We are looking for a highly organized, hands-on Head of E-commerce Operations to take ownership of how e-commerce projects move from idea to live execution.
This is not a management-only role, but it is also not a landing page builder, UX designer or developer role.
We already have a dedicated UX designer and developer who handle landing pages, PDPs and larger technical work.
Your responsibility is to make sure the entire execution process moves quickly, while personally owning the Shopify backend and operational side of the business.
You will manage people and projects, but you will also spend a significant amount of time executing things yourself inside Shopify and other operational tools.
We are looking for an operator, not someone whose job ends with delegation.
What You Will Own
You will manage and execute projects such as:
- New landing pages and PDPs
- Product launches
- Promotions
- A/B tests
- New offers and bundles
- New market launches
- Shopify improvements
- E-commerce operational projects
Once a project is approved, you own the process from:
idea → design → development → Shopify setup → QA → launch
At any moment, you should know what is happening, who owns what, what is blocked and what needs to happen next.
If something is slipping, you catch it early and get it moving.
This Is a Hands-On Role
A major part of this position is doing operational work yourself.
You will frequently work directly inside Shopify and other tools to:
- Create products and variants
- Set up and maintain SKUs
- Configure pricing
- Create discount codes
- Build bundles and offers
- Manage product availability
- Configure Shopify Markets
- Add and maintain product costs and backend information
- Test products, storefront and checkout
- Research and configure apps
- Fix smaller operational issues
- Prepare things other team members need to continue their work
- Help unblock developers, designers and other team members
You should naturally think:
"Can I just solve this?"
before turning every small issue into another task for somebody else.
Managing UX & Development
You will work closely with our UX designer and Shopify developer.
You don't need to design landing pages yourself or be a developer, but you need enough Shopify and e-commerce knowledge to manage the process intelligently.
You should be comfortable asking:
Why is this taking this long?
What exactly is blocking this?
When will the first version be ready?
What do you need from us to finish?
Is this actually ready to launch?
How do we make this process faster next time?
Your job is not simply to track work.
Your job is to increase the team's output.
Launches, Promotions & SOPs
When we launch a product, promotion or new market, you make sure everything is actually ready.
Products, prices, discounts, pages, translations, development, QA, tracking, links and responsibilities all need to come together.
You will also build SOPs and checklists for recurring processes such as:
- Product launches
- Landing page creation
- Promotions
- New market launches
- Shopify product setup
- QA
- Discounts and bundles
We want repeated work to become faster and more predictable instead of reinventing the process every time.
What Success Looks Like
After a few months:
Projects move significantly faster.
Founders no longer need to chase developers or designers.
Shopify is clean and organized.
People rarely sit blocked because they're waiting for something.
Promotions and launches happen through systems instead of last-minute chaos.
Recurring processes have clear SOPs.
Deadlines are visible and taken seriously.
And when something small needs to be done, it gets done rather than becoming another week-long project.
Who We Are Looking For
We need someone who combines manager + operator.
Someone who can coordinate a team in the morning and spend part of the afternoon personally fixing Shopify setup.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Are extremely organized
- Move fast
- Hate unfinished tasks
- Follow up without being asked
- Are comfortable holding people accountable
- Enjoy working inside Shopify
- Like solving operational problems yourself
- Think in deadlines, dependencies and next actions
- Naturally create systems and checklists
- Take responsibility for the final outcome
Ideally, you have experience with:
- Shopify
- E-commerce operations
- Managing designers and developers
- Product setup
- Promotions and discounts
- Landing page / PDP workflows
- Product launches
- International e-commerce
- Asana, ClickUp, Monday or similar tools
What This Role Is NOT
This is not primarily a:
- Paid media role.
- Copywriting role.
- UX design role.
- CRO strategy role.
- Developer role.
And most importantly, it is not a corporate project management role where you spend your day assigning tasks and asking other people for status updates.
We expect you to manage, coordinate and execute.
About TheSilkyWay
TheSilkyWay is a fast-growing European haircare brand currently operating primarily in Hungary and Poland, with further international expansion ahead.
We have teams across creative, copywriting, UX, development, performance marketing and operations.
This role will become one of the central positions connecting those teams and making sure the business can execute faster as it grows.
Why This Role Matters
For us, speed is a competitive advantage.
A great landing page that takes three weeks to launch is less valuable than one that takes five days.
A great promotion incorrectly configured in Shopify is a failed promotion.
And we cannot scale into multiple markets if founders have to coordinate every small operational detail.
Your job is to build and operate the execution system that allows the company to move faster.
