Join us as a Financial Accountant (f/m/d)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Berlin, think-cell has become the leading provider of business document creation software, renowned for our essential PowerPoint plug-in that revolutionizes the creation of charts and other layout functionalities. In 2021, Cinven recognized think-cell’s potential and acquired a majority stake, further solidifying our position in the market.
As a key member of our finance team, you will independently manage accounts receivable and payable, process invoices and bank transactions, and oversee expense tracking using Payhawk. You will play an essential role in monthly closings, including VAT returns, and support annual financial audits and tax preparations.
Your responsibilities:
- Independent management of accounts receivable and payable using Datev:
- Independent processing of incoming and outgoing invoices as well as bank transactions
- Autonomous management and handling of mailboxes for debtors and creditors
- Proactive handling of customer and supplier inquiries
- Independent management and monitoring of expenses through the global tool „Payhawk“
- Reconciliation and clarification of open items
- Involvement and independent tasks in the monthly closing:
- Preparation of monthly reports such as VAT returns, summary reports, and AWV
- Recording and posting of fixed assets
- Independent posting of recurring business transactions as well as active and passive accruals
- Creation of monthly reports and handling of ad-hoc inquiries
- Support and independent preparation of documentation for national and international tax returns
- Support in annual closing/audits and tax examinations:
- Development of reports and documentation for the annual financial statements
- Independent compilation of receipts and documentation for audit requests from tax and external auditors.
You will be great for that position if you have
- Completed training as an office administrator, financial accountant, or tax specialist
- Several years of professional experience in accounting and solid knowledge of accounting regulations
- Very good German and English skills
- Knowledge of Datev and additional qualifications in finance and accounting are advantageous
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook
- Passion for the field of accounting
- Independent and service-oriented work approach with attention to detail
- Forward-thinking and careful working style
- High motivation and initiative for professional and personal development
